Yes you can make it without parchment paper if you use the reusable nonstick sheets that you can purchase with the dehydrator. Hope this helps and good luck!

I am going to make this in my new dehydrator and it will be my first fruit leather attempt. Is it possible to make it without parchment paper? I try not to use that too often due to the chemicals it is coated in. Thanks in advance for your help!

I love to make it with frozen strawberries, raspberries or fresh pears. You can keep the same proportions of applesauce and date. If you find it too sweet, you can leave the dates out. For more protein, you can also add 1-2 tablespoon of almond butter or peanut butter, it is really delicious! For other ideas, you can check out my other recipes for fruit roll-ups here:

And would I need to adjust the applesauce and dates for sweetness? I like the idea of added protein with the chia seeds. My middle school daughter is starting cross country running next week, and we need low-sugar, high protein and good carb snacks.
